What it is
A herniated disc happens when one of the discs that cushion the vertebrae slips out of place and presses on the nerves. When it presses on the sciatic nerve, the pain can travel from the lower back down the leg: that pain is called sciatica.
Lower back pain is pain in the lower part of the back. It may or may not come from a herniated disc; the doctor checks it at the assessment.
How it is treated
Depending on your case, the doctor may combine rehabilitation sessions with spinal adjustments, acupuncture or pain therapy. The plan is set at the assessment.
